Ayumu takes thirteenth at Aragon
PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s Ayumu Sasaki took yet another points-scoring finish in today’s Gran Premio de Aragon, coming home in 13th place.
It was not a particularly fortunate day for Ayumu who struggled to overtake on MotorLand Aragon’s long straights despite looking fast in practice and able to set good times. Eventually dropping back to 13th at the chequered flag, Sasaki is already concentrating on the championship’s next outing.
The 2019 Moto3 World Championship continues in two weeks’ time at the Thai Grand Prix, with action getting underway at the Chang International Circuit on Friday 4th October, ahead of race day on Sunday 6th October.
“I started well and I was running in the front group with good confidence in the bike. Unfortunately, I had some issues on the straight right from the first lap which meant I was struggling to pass people. Today’s result isn’t one that I wanted, and we’re going to have to see how we can improve before the next race. I’m already thinking about Thailand because in the last two races we’ve had a lot of potential, but we’ve not been able to make the most of it.”
