First roll-out for Red Bull KTM Tech3 Moto3 team in Jerez
The all new Red Bull KTM Tech3 Moto3 team had a first appearance on track on Wednesday and Thursday this week at the Circuito de Jerez with their riders Ayumu Sasaki and Deniz Öncü, who were each riding on one day, although rain and cold weather disturbed the proceedings in the South of Spain. While Sasaki was using day one to get comfortable aboard the KTM machine, doing 23 laps with a broken metacarpal bone in his right hand on a wet track, it was Öncü, who took over on Thursday, lapping the circuit 27 times in the rain.
“It’s a shame, that it’s quite cold and rainy here, so we couldn’t take advantage of the full day testing here today. We started this morning with the 2019 bike, did some laps and I was feeling really good with it. I was truly comfortable and also the lap times have been quite nice, because to ride a 1:59 here in full wet conditions, it not bad. We were working for the first time in the team as well and I have to say, I’m really happy with the bike, the crew and everything. I can’t wait for the next test and for the 2020 season in general!”
