Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Ayumu Sasaki concluded today’s Qualifying one in seventh position and earlier missed out on a direct Q2 spot by just 0.029 seconds ending up in P15 of the combined Free Practice times at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Therefore, the Japanese youngster has to tackle the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini from the seventh row of the grid in 21st place.

“Qualifying was pretty difficult today. We started the weekend very well in FP1, so we were already in a good position. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well, after this. Finally, we end up quite in the back of the grid, so I’m disappointed. But I think like in Austria we can be very strong in the race, so I’m confident, although I couldn’t really show my potential in Qualifying so far this year. We need to fix that somehow. Now we need to focus on tomorrow. We know that we have a good pace for the race, in Warm Up we will try a few things and hopefully we can get back up there again in the race.”
