With a strong start into the second race weekend the same venue – Misano, Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider Ayumu Sasaki continued where he left off yesterday in FP3 this morning. Although he sustained a small crash, he managed to improve his Friday’s best by 0.364 seconds to qualify directly for Q2. In the short Qualifying session itself, the Japanese youngster hit some traffic and eventually ended up in P16, which equals his best Qualifying result from Jerez II and Austria I.

“Qualifying has been a bit disappointing today. I think we could have gone better, but I came into some traffic and couldn’t do my good lap. In the end, we finished 16th. But at the same time, I think we have a good race pace. We just need to come back again to the front in tomorrow’s race. We wanted to improve our Qualifying, so it’s not what I was hoping for. Anyway, it’s finished now, so we focus fully on the race tomorrow.”
