After he struggled to improve in this morning’s cold FP3 at Motorland Aragon, Ayumu Sasaki delivered an amazing performance in Q1. With a strong lap time of 1:58.744 he snatched second and restarted confidently in Qualifying two. Not finding his ideal place in the busy second Qualifying, Ayumu was unable to lower his personal best and concluded the day in P18. The Japanese youngster will line up in row six for tomorrow’s 11th round of the 2020 season at 12:00 local time.

“It was a difficult FP3 and we came back well in Q1. In Q2, I messed up. I had a plan, but made a mistake on the first lap in Q2 and everything went wrong. We couldn’t do the lap time, we hoped for, after we managed to go more than a second quicker in Q1. I have to admit, that I’m very disappointed, but we need to focus for tomorrow. We know we need to start well and try to get out the maximum.”
