The Red Bull KTM Tech3 Moto3 duo continued their test program on Saturday at the Losail International Circuit, although the wind picked up in the course of the second day of testing.

Despite the tricky conditions, Ayumu Sasaki concluded the second day of the official IRTA test in P12, clocking a personal best time, which was 1.16 seconds quicker than yesterday. He was followed closely by his teammate Deniz Öncü in P16. Yet, the Turkish youngster went 0.752 seconds faster than on day one.

Sunday will be the final day of preseason preparations ahead of the first round of the 2021 season, which kicks off next week at the same venue in Qatar.

“Today we progressed a lot. We finished the day in P12 and improved not just our position, but also our lap time. I feel better on the bike, we are doing the right steps, so I’m happy. There are still a few more things we have to work on for the race weekend, that is clear.”
I’m not fully convinced yet, but for Sunday we can make another step forward and I think if we can do that, we will be close to the front. We did well today, but as I said yesterday, I have the feeling there is still room to improve. Hopefully I can finish this test inside the top 10 and feeling-wise very good. I will try to work on that tomorrow in order to be ready for the race weekend.”
