Tricky qualifying day in the desert at the #DohaGP

Strong winds and sand complicated Saturday’s proceedings at the Losail International Circuit. Therefore, Ayumu Sasaki was unable to improve his lap time during FP3 today, but tried to pull out everything in Q1 late afternoon. Yet, the Japanese ended up in eighth, which means he’ll launch off the line tomorrow from row six.

“Today has been another difficult day. It was extremely windy and I couldn’t find a way to do a fast lap time in these conditions. It was my fault, but it’s not easy to get a feeling for the bike when you are riding almost three seconds slower. I’m disappointed about today, but in a Moto3 race everything is possible. As it seems, it’s going to be very windy again tomorrow. We will try to catch the group, try to understand and never give up. We will focus and we know that we have a good pace with used tyres. I’ll be giving everything to catch the front.”
