Meanwhile Ayumu Sasaki made significant steps forward on day two of the Austrian GP weekend. He improved to P8 in the third Free Practice and like his teammate went straight to Qualifying two. The Japanese did some impressive laps and eventually ended up in P6, which signifies his best starting position this year so far. He’ll launch off from the second row of the grid next to Öncü

“I think today has been much better than last Saturday. We crashed in FP3, but it was ok. We fixed the bike very well and also improved in terms of setup compared to last week. We managed to finish P6 in Qualifying, a very good result, although I think I could have been a little bit better in the end, even fighting for pole. I’m still happy about today. For tomorrow we have a good race pace. I think it’s going to be dry, but a crazy race like last year. Hopefully we can finish well and fight for the podium.”
