Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider Ayumu Sasaki failed to secure a straight Q2 ticket for the Aragon GP by a whisker this morning. But the Japanese made up for it when ending Q1 in third, which meant he advanced to Q2. In the final 15 minutes long session for the lightweight class he went one tenth quicker than in Q1 and eventually ended up in P16, which means he’ll start tomorrow’s 19 laps race from the sixth row of the grid.

“It has been another difficult day. We are not feeling at 100% with the setup of the bike. I wanted more, so I was pushing, but I feel already at the limit. We tried one thing, which was better than yesterday, but still not, what I was looking for. I don’t know what we are capable of tomorrow, but we will analyze, try to understand, try to improve and be focused on tomorrow. I imagine the race will be tricky, but at least I think we can follow the front group and learn many things.”
