The Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini started off with some mixed weather conditions. Yet, the Moto3 category was lucky to just encounter some drops of rain towards the final minutes of FP2 this afternoon.

Ayumu Sasaki struggled to find a good feeling throughout day one, but improved his lap time by 0.350 seconds between the first two sessions and eventually ended up in P20.

“It was a tricky opening day. We started with not a great feeling in FP1, but managed to improve the bike a lit in FP2. I felt much better and way more comfortable. With the rain in the end, I didn’t manage to do a fast lap, as I felt we could have made it to the top 10. The result doesn’t look great, but I think we have many places to improve for tomorrow. I hope the weather will be a bit more stable for FP3. At least, I feel more comfortable and I think we are on the right track, so let’s see what we can do tomorrow.”
