Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Ayumu Sasaki delivered strong Friday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and managed to continue his good work in this morning’s wet FP3. He concluded the practice sessions in fifth and was aiming to push hard again in Qualifying two on a slowly drying track at lunchtime. On route to his fastest lap time, Ayumu unfortunately went down. Yet he could pick up his bike, continue to ride and eventually finished in P10.

“I think it was a good day again. In FP3 we finished well one more time in wet conditions. Qualifying has been difficult because you could go with slicks, but also with rain tyres. It was mixed, but we opted for wet tyres. I think it was the right choice for me. I made a small mistake with four minutes to go and I crashed. That caused me to lose a bit of confidence and time. Until the crash we were fighting for P3 or P4, so I’m a little bit disappointed. But finishing in P10 in difficult conditions is ok. I hope it’s going to be dry tomorrow and we can show some good potential.”
